“The effect of the Sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of the Pentecost. Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace. It gives is a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly and to never be ashamed of the Cross.”

Confirmation at St. Leo Parish
St. Leo Parish cooperates with parents in offering formation for students in grades 1 through 8 for preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. For the two years directly prior to the reception of the sacrament, children are more directly prepared.
Candidates in the process for Confirmation, will get the opportunity to reflect on how to live out the commitment they make to Christ in Confirmation while reviewing key concepts of the faith through prayer, scripture, and service.
The preparation process will include Eucharistic Adoration, the celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation and a retreats at the beginning and end of the year.
Parishioner’s children who attend Catholic school and do not attend religious formation at St. Leo are an important part of our family and are invited to attend a period of training directly before the sacrament and are encouraged to make this sacrament with their St. Leo parish family.
