Be a Pilgrim of Hope during this Holy Year.
Celebrate the Jubilee with a pilgrimage to Lourdes in Litchfield
with fellow St. Leo parishioners to revive your sense of hope in God and in yourself.
Join us for this prayerful and memorable experience for our St. Leo parish community. This day of Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Lourdes in Litchfield, dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes, can be a chance to participate in a peaceful day of prayer led by the Montfort Missionaries. It offers an opportunity for parishioners of St. Leo to reflect on your call as baptized followers of Jesus, to be united with God in the midst of the beauty of creation, and to pray with Mary, the mother and model of all the baptized.
The pilgrimage day begins with a departure via bus from St. Leo at 9:00 AM. When we arrive at the Shrine there will be an opportunity to spend some time becoming acquainted with the beautiful grounds. We will then gather in the Grotto for the celebration of Mass at 11:30 AM. This is the heart of the day, as we unite to give thanks to God with a special Mass celebrated by our pastor Father Javier. After Mass, the pilgrimage day continues with a meal shared by the group, Food is available for purchase at the Grotto Café or you can also bring your own picnic lunch and use the tables inside Pilgrim Hall or the patio outside the hall. After lunch there is an opportunity to walk the Way of the Cross or other meditation paths privately or in small groups. The day will come to a close at 3:00 PM to pray the Rosary at the grotto. Our return to St. Leo should be around 6:00 PM.
A donation of $50.00 will help cover the cost of transportation to and from St. Leo. You can click below to find full details about the pilgrimage as well as the sign-up forms. The sign-up forms will also be available in the back of church. Completed forms and payment by check can be returned to the parish office.
