The St. Leo Social Concerns Committee sponsors many events for the benefit of the community. Some of these activities include: an annual clothing drive, Thanksgiving meal at New Covenant House, Christmas Wish Tree (providing gifts to local organizations), food collections for the New Covenant House food pantry, and an annual Remembrance Mass for parishioners who have lost loved ones. Please consider joining this worthwhile committee.
Fall Food Collection
Christmas Wish Tree
This year we distributed close to 900 tags, collected more than a 1000 toiletries and over 95 (very generous) grocery cards for many families. And for those of you that are interested, as of tonight we are waiting for very few gifts to be returned in the next couple of days.
If you sorted gifts, delivered gifts, wrote cards, signed out tags, made copies, took photos, provided posters, posted on the website, cut out tags, printed labels, liaised with the organizations, moved tables, provided coffee and snacks, fulfilled wishes by taking tags, the list is endless…. 🙂
What we are trying to say is we couldn’t do it without the support and generosity of each one of you!! We collected as many emails as we could, please forward this note on to anyone we may have inadvertently missed.
As you head into your own holiday celebrations know you have provided much joy and happiness to others!
A heartfelt thank you and wishing you a very Merry Christmas and holiday season.
